Private Transport

BY AIR: Fly into either LEGAZPI DARAGA (airport code DRP) or MASBATE (airport code MBT). There are daily flights with Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific in and out of Legazpi Daraga from Manila and Cebu. Cebu Pacific flys daily between Manila and Masbate and 3 times weekly between Cebu and Masbate. Please check with the airline for the updated schedule as flight routes and schedules change per season.

BY LAND: Travel from Manila to Legazpi is possible by land. There are buses daily between PTIX and Cubao Station to Legazpi Bus Station. If you have your own vehicle, you may proceed to the either of the following ports listed below to ferry to the island or to take a RORO if you wish to bring your vehicle to the island.

BULAN – RORO which can take passengers and vehicles; private resort boat for passengers.
PILAR – RORO which can take passengers and vehicles.
DONSOL – Private resort boat which can take passengers

RORO: RORO is short or ROLL ON – ROLL OFF. It is a large sea vessel that can take passengers and vehicles. RORO schedule and details can be found under the PRIVATE VAN + FERRY TRANSFERS option. Advanced reservation for those bringing their vehicles on the RORO is recommended.

LEGAZPI CITY to TICAO ISLAND RESORT

FULL PRIVATE TRANSFERS

  • PHP12,000 per way
  • 1 van + 1 boat / maximum of 8 persons

Route Details:
· Legazpi to Bulan Port by land / 2.5 hour travel
· Bulan to Ticao Island Resort by sea / 1 hour travel

Additional Information:
For safety purposes, boat transfers are not allowed from 1800H to 0500H. Guests should arrive into Legazpi no later than 1500H to be at the port no later than 1800H. Earliest departure from the resort is at 0500H, so best to book a flight our of Legazpi no earlier than 1000H.

  • PLUS PHP400 per person for RORO fare and port fees

ROUTE 1: VIA BULAN PORT
Route Details:

  • Legazpi to Bulan Port by private vehicle / 2.5 hour travel
  • Bulan to San Jacinto RORO travel by sea / 1.5 hours
  • San Jacinto to resort by private vehicle / 30 minutes

  • The BULAN to SAN JACINTO RORO schedule is 0800H (Arrival into Legazpi by 0430H to catch this trip) 1230H (Arrival into Legazpi by 0930H to catch this trip)
  • The SAN JACINTO to BULAN RORO schedule is 0530H (Flight departure from Legazpi at 1100H or later) 1000H (Flight departure from Legazpi at 1530H or later)

ROUTE 2: VIA PILAR PORT
Route Details:

  • Legazpi to Pilar Port by private vehicle / 1.5 hour travel
  • Pilar to San Jacinto RORO travel by sea / 2.5 hours
  • San Jacinto to resort by private vehicle / 30 minutes

Schedule (DAILY):

  • The PILAR to SAN JACINTO RORO schedule is 1500H (Arrival into Legazpi by 1230H to catch this trip)
  • The SAN JACINTO to PILAR RORO schedule is 0500H (Flight departure from Legazpi at 1100H or later)

DONSOL to TICAO ISLAND RESORT


PRIVATE BOAT TRANSFERS

  • PHP12,000 per way per boat / maximum of 8 persons
  • Option to Add PHP5,000 to do a side trip of Donsol – North Ticao Island Hopping – Drop off at Ticao Island Resort

  • The Fast Craft is more reliable and has a schedule of
    MASBATE to LAGUNDI: 1000H / 1200H / 1400H / 1600H
    LAGUNDI to MASBATE: 0700H / 0800H / 1100H / 1500H
  • The RORO is ideal for those that have their own vehicles and would like to take it to the resort. RORO schedule is:
    MASBATE to LAGUNDI: 1130H / 1200H
    LAGUNDI to MASBATE: 0530H / 0630H

(2) The sea ports can be chaotic. Please extend some patience. To support the livelihood of the porters, the port authorities do not allow our staff (drivers, boat crew, etc) to assist guests with luggage. You will need to carry your own luggage or you can get a porter for PHP100 per luggage.


Public Transport

A more economical way is to take public transportation. Travel time will be longer due to more waiting times and comfort of travel may not be the best. Public vans DO NOT leave until full so please take this into consideration for time constraints to catch the ferry. We have provided details below on the different public transportation routes for your reference.

LEGAZPI CITY to PILAR to TICAO ISLAND RESORT

  • You need to get to the LEGAZPI GRAND TERMINAL located beside SM City Legazpi. If you are already in Legazpi City, just find your way to the LEGAZPI GRAND TERMINAL. If you are coming from the Bicol International (Legazpi) Airport, you will need to get a shuttle (PHP200 per passenger) or a taxi to SM City Legazpi. The airport is about 20 minutes from the city center.
  • From the LEGAZPI GRAND TERMINAL, take a UV EXPRESS VAN labeled PILAR. And tell the driver that you will get off at the PILAR PORT. Travel time is about 1.5 hours and the fare is PHP250 per seat. If you need more space, you can pay for more seats.
  • From the PILAR PORT
    (a) Get a lancha (outrigger boat) going to MONREAL. Travel time is about 2.5 hours and you will have to pay about PHP350 per passenger inclusive of port fees. The lancha schedule is: PILAR to MONREAL 1000H MONREAL to PILAR 0530H
    (b) In terms of comfort and a better vessel, we would
    recommend the RORO of Kho Shipping Lines which travels to SAN JACINTO daily. Travel time is about 2.5 hours and you will have to pay about PHP500 per passenger inclusive of port fees. The Kho Shipping Lines RORO schedule is:
    PILAR to SAN JACINTO 1500H
    SAN JACINTO to PILAR 0500H
  • Upon arrival at Ticao Island (Monreal Port or San Jacinto Port), you can take a habal-habal (a motorcycle back ride) or a tricycle going to the resort.
  • SAN JACINTO to Resort 30 minutes travel time Motorcycle PHP 350 per motorcycle/ 1 person recommended Tricycle PHP 600 tricycle for 1-2 persons; PHP 850 for 3 persons
  • MONREAL to RESORT 45 minutes travel time Motorcycle PHP 500 per motorcycle / 1 person recommended Tricycle PHP 1,000 tricycle for 1-3 persons

DONSOL to PILAR to TICAO ISLAND RESORT

  • If you are coming from Donsol, you can hire a tricycle to take you to the PILAR port. This is about 30 minutes travel. The tricycle will charge is about PHP500. Refer to the above section on how to get to Ticao Island Resort from Pilar Port.
  • Once you get to PILAR, you may follow the instructions as mentioned above.

LEGAZPI CITY to BULAN to TICAO ISLAND RESORT

  • You need to get to the LEGAZPI GRAND TERMINAL located beside SM City Legazpi. If you are already in Legazpi City, just find your way to the LEGAZPI GRAND TERMINAL. If you are coming from the Bicol International (Legazpi) Airport, you will need to get a shuttle (PHP250 per passenger) to SM City Legazpi. The airport is about 20 minutes from the city center.
  • From the LEGAZPI GRAND TERMINAL, take a UV EXPRESS VAN labeled BULAN. And tell the driver that you will get off at the BULAN PORT. Travel time is about 3.5 hours and the fare is PHP450 per seat. If you need more space, you can pay for more seats.
  • From the BULAN PORT, you will need to take a ferry to San Jacinto. Schedule and details shown below:
    BULAN to SAN JACINTO: 0630H (Fast Craft) 0800H (RORO), 1230H (RORO)
    SAN JACINTO to BULAN: 0445H (Fast Craft) 0530H (RORO), 1000H (RORO)
  • Upon arrival at SAN JACINTO, you can take a habal-habal (a motorcycle back ride) or a tricycle going to the resort.

  • Find your way to the MASBATE SEAPORT. If you are coming from the MASBATE AIRPORT, you can get a tricycle and it will only cost you about PHP100 for a 15 minute travel.
